The village of Chiflik and its surroundings

The Village
Chiflic is 14 km away from Troyan, famous for hand-made ceramics and the national drink of Bulgaria – Rakia – a plum brandy. The ancient monastery of Troyan is situated a few kilometers out of the town and is well worth a visit. The village is spread along a forested valley on the banks of the Beli Osam river. There are about 500 inhabitants. The altitude is about 400 m. Chiflic lies at the foot of the Balkan Mountains and 5 km from the Central Balkan National Park. There are beautiful and interesting walks in the natural forest and the very wide range of plant species makes it particularly fascinating for people with an interest in botany.

Nature
Chiflic lies on a geological fault line where two Tectonic plates meet. Much of the rock strata is exposed and through the movements of Tectonic plates had formed fantastic shapes. If you are interested in geology, this is something you must see! The same Tectonic action creates in Chiflic hot mineral water springs. Unusually, this hot water is totally free of suplhurous smell. Swimming pools using this healthy, beautiful warm water are open all year round, 2 km away from Pink House. We can provide free transport to and from the pools. This area is for the most part unspoiled and free of pollution. The air is clean and pure. You have maybe never seen the stars and moon so bright. Chiflic is a perfect place for active holidays or just "crash out" and relax.
